Bastille Day and the Chantilly Domain July 30, 2010

On July 14, we all went to the Eiffel Tower to celebrate Bastille Day and watch the fireworks. We heard that these are probably the best fireworks in Europe, and we weren’t disappointed! We were sort of surprised, though, because the event didn’t seem very patriotic. In fact, during the fireworks show, they played music from around the world, and not the French national anthem as we were expecting!

The next day we got up bright and early to go see the Chantilly Domain. There was a beautiful castle, complete with a moat, and some famous horse stables where we saw two equestrian shows. We also saw an exhibit about the life and assassination of King Henri IV.

I can’t believe that we only have a few days left in Paris. The LBAT has been a great experience!
