GTL Adventures

When you’re in France, and Bastille Day comes around, where can you spend it but Paris? This seemed obvious to us when we were planning our summer, but the logistics of the plan proved slightly more difficult. We had made train reservations months in advance, but our train was at 7:30 in the morning, and the buses were not running on their normal schedule because it was a national holiday. No problem; we decided to walk. Twenty minutes later, Ryan realized that he had forgotten his Eurail pass. He gave us his backpack and we gave him directions and he started running back to GTL.

We carried on walking, checking behind us every so often. At 7:00 there was still no sign of him. At 7:15 not only was there no sign of Ryan, but we didn’t even recognize where we were. At 7:25, we reached the Centre Pompidou, which…
