Our first day in Belgium was spent in Brussels.  We started with a bus tour as we arrived in the city; our coach driver, Baloo is from Belgium, so he narrated as we looked out at the city.  He then took us to the best spot for “Belgium Fires.”  After lunch, we headed to the music and instruments museum that featured neat interactive exhibits in addition to traditional displays.  Afterwards, Baloo and Dr. Ulrich, our music professor, took us on a walking tour of Brussels.   We stopped for waffles and then headed back to Ghent for the night!

Day two in Belgium brought a day trip to Bruges.  We first stopped at a chocolate shop.  The owner was friends with Baloo and gave us all a free chocolate.  We stopped by later to buy some chocolates from her shop.  We toured the Groenige Museum with our art professor, after which we had a free day in the town.  First stop was lunch, followed by shopping the lace and chocolate markets.   After a full day, we headed back to Ghent for dinner and for the night.

We stayed in Ghent for our last day in Belgium, which started with our final lectures for our art and music classes.  We toured the church that housed the Ghent Altarpiece, which we had studied in our art class.  A few of us went to a Belgian café for lunch, where we enjoyed quiche Lorraine and coroque madame sandwiches! We walked around Ghent for the afternoon, and had waffles for dinner!  What a perfect way to end our trip to Belgium!
