Study Abroad Program: Valencia/Lisbon Study Abroad Program

Hey! My name is Becky Byler and I am just finishing up my freshman year at Georgia Tech. This past year I was on Freshman Council and the Women’s Recruitment Board, as well as was a member of Engineers Without Borders and my social sorority. When not listening to reggaeton, trying to find a decent salad in the south, or watching Planet Earth, I spend my time playing soccer, volunteering, and scrapbooking.

The Valencia/Lisbon Program offers a dual study program, in that I will spend my first two weeks in Lisbon, exploring the city and learning about Portugal’s politics and international relations, and my last four weeks in Valencia, conducting research through a Mediterranean ecology course. While there, I will also be taking two trips outside of the country, one to Italy and one to France, during my free weekends for travel. From Valencia, I will be flying directly to Honduras where I will be facilitating sustainable community development projects in rural communities as a project supervisor in La Paz, Honduras.
